Body Psychotherapy, Bereavement & Integrative Massage

Steve Elliott, London About Steve

I became a professional massage therapist in 1992 and qualified in body psychotherapy in 2007.   Throughout my work, I have continued my professional development to deepen my understanding of the bodymind process so that each session is a uniquely individual and holistic experience.

My background has embraced acting and gymnastics, dance and fitness instruction which have together provided me with a rich experience of the physical body and of the body in voice and movement.   This work developed and dovetailed with becoming a massage therapist and on to teaching massage and anatomy.   Eventually, I undertook my second master's degree in Therapeutic Bodywork at the University of Westminster and went on to become module leader for the University's B.A. degree in Massage for Nurses.   A personal fulfilment was in co-founding the Cambridge College of Therapeutic Massage which achieved national accreditation status for its diploma training by the Association of Physical and Natural Therapists.

I trained in Biodynamic Massage and Body Psychotherapy at the Chiron Centre, London, where I also trained in Post Traumatic Stress therapy with Babette Rosthchild. In addition to my private practice, I provide bereavement counselling at Meadow House Hospice at Ealing NHS Hospital.

I am a registered associate member of the Chiron Association of Body Psychotherapists
